| Résumé : |
Written in the late 14th century by Geoffrey Chaucer, The Canterbury Tales is a frame narrative — a collection of stories told by a group of pilgrims traveling from London to Canterbury to visit the shrine of St. Thomas Becket.
Each pilgrim tells a tale to entertain the group, and their stories reflect their personalities, social class, and values. A "selection" usually refers to the most famous tales rather than the whole collection (which includes over 20 stories). |
